Floor Coating Singapore

Floor coating systems for Singapore industry

A floor coating protects concrete from traffic, chemicals and moisture while keeping it cleanable and safe. In Singapore, the right system depends on four things: the substrate, the traffic it takes, the chemicals and moisture it faces, and your shutdown window. Rayson manufactures the full range locally — epoxy roller coats, self-levelling floors, heavy-duty PU-cement screeds, anti-slip and static-control systems — with open technical data sheets and direct technical support.

Choose by system type

Floor coatings are systems, not single products: a primer bonds to prepared concrete, a body coat builds the performance, and a finish sets the final surface. The body coat defines the class of floor you get:

System typeTypical buildBest suited toRayson system
Roller-applied epoxy Thin film, 2–3 coats Light traffic, dust-proofing, demarcation, budget refurbishment FloorGuard R50 over PrimeBond E20
Self-levelling epoxy Seamless self-smoothing layer Forklift traffic, production floors, clean environments LevelShield SL120
PU-cement screed Trowel-applied 1.5–3 mm+ Hot wash-down, thermal shock, F&B and chemical plants PurScreed PC70
Water-based epoxy Low-odour seal coats Occupied buildings, schools, offices, overnight windows HydroShield WE40 / WE45
PU topcoats UV-stable finish coats Exposed decks, colour-critical and abrasion-heavy floors UraForce WB52, SB72
Anti-slip systems Textured primer + sealed aggregate Ramps, wet areas, entrances, kitchens GripSafe AP12
Static-control flooring Conductive system + earthing Electronics assembly, ESD-protected areas StaticGuard CX90

Built for Singapore conditions

Singapore floors work harder than most: constant humidity, slabs that never fully dry, monsoon-tracked entrances, hot wash-downs in F&B, and programmes with overnight-only access. That shapes our recommendations — moisture-tolerant primers like PrimeBond E20 where slabs can't be dried out, low-odour water-based systems for occupied buildings, and textured finishes where rain and wash-down make smooth floors a slip risk.

The honest rule of floor life: preparation beats product. Most failures start with laitance, oil or moisture that was coated over — read the surface preparation guide before you specify anything.

Frequently asked questions

How much does floor coating cost in Singapore?

Cost depends on the system build-up (roller coat, self-levelling or screed), the substrate condition, the area and the access windows. A thin roller-applied epoxy costs far less per square metre than a heavy-duty PU-cement screed. Send us your area, surface condition and required completion date for a firm quotation — there is no honest one-size-per-m² answer.

Which floor coating is best for a warehouse in Singapore?

For typical forklift traffic, a self-levelling epoxy such as Rayson LevelShield SL120 over PrimeBond E20 primer is the usual answer. Light-traffic zones can use a roller-applied epoxy; heavy-impact or wash-down zones step up to a PU-cement screed such as PurScreed PC70.

How long before a coated floor can be used?

Most epoxy systems take foot traffic in about a day and light traffic within 2–4 days, with full cure around a week — faster in Singapore heat. Exact times depend on the product and site temperature; check the product TDS and confirm your programme with our technical team.

Do I always need a primer?

Almost always, yes. The primer seals porosity and creates the bond the whole system relies on — most coating failures trace back to skipped preparation or priming, not the topcoat. Rayson PrimeBond primers cover dry, damp, and solvent-sensitive situations.

Can you coat over an existing floor coating?

Sometimes — if the existing coating is well bonded, it can be abraded and overcoated with a compatible system. If it is failing, it must come off. We recommend an adhesion assessment first; send us photos via WhatsApp for a quick initial view.

Does Rayson supply and apply floor coatings?
