Rayson FloorGuard R50 is a two-component, solvent-free high-solids epoxy floor coating that cures to a smooth gloss — or a slip-resistant finish when broadcast with aggregate — for concrete and screed under normal to medium-heavy wear.
Best for roller-applied epoxy floors and broadcast seal coats in storage and assembly halls, workshops, garages, loading ramps and car park decks, including wet process areas in food and beverage plants.
FloorGuard R50 is the general-purpose roller-applied epoxy in the Rayson range: a solvent-free, high-solids two-component coating that lays down a hard-wearing, low-maintenance film. Applied plain it finishes smooth and glossy; broadcast with graded aggregate between coats it builds a slip-resistant texture for ramps and wet zones.
It carries no solvent, so it can be applied where ventilation is limited, and it grips mechanically prepared concrete strongly — pull-off testing fails in the concrete rather than at the coating. Cured, it develops a compressive strength of 55 N/mm², carrying the traffic of warehouses and assembly areas, vehicle workshops, garages and ramps.
As a sealing coat over a broadcast system it serves multi-storey and underground car parks, maintenance hangars and wet process areas in the beverage and food industry. It is applied over a Rayson epoxy primer and is not intended for exterior UV-exposed surfaces, where epoxy chalks and yellows.
A body coat builds the main thickness and mechanical performance of the floor, applied over a primer and usually sealed with a finish.
The figures below are a guide for planning. Site conditions and workmanship affect results — confirm the details for your project with our technical team.
| Coverage | 0.3–0.5 kg/m² per coat, applied in 2 coats; varies with substrate condition |
|---|---|
| Mixing | Two pre-weighed parts, mix ratio 4:1 (A:B) by weight; mix mechanically for at least 2–3 minutes; pot life up to 30 minutes at 30 °C |
| Drying & curing | Final cure 7 days |
| Pack sizes | 20 kg set — Part A 16 kg + Part B 4 kg |
Applied plain it cures to a smooth gloss; broadcast with graded aggregate between coats it builds a slip-resistant texture for ramps and wet areas. Both are the same coating, finished differently.
It is roller-, brush- or spray-applied over a Rayson epoxy primer, normally in 2 coats at 0.3–0.5 kg/m² per coat. Actual coverage varies with the substrate condition and porosity.
Yes. It is applied over a Rayson epoxy primer such as PrimeBond E20 — one to two primer coats depending on substrate absorbency — which seals the surface and provides the adhesion the system relies on.
Yes — as a sealing coat over a broadcast system it suits multi-storey and underground car park decks, and wet process areas in the food and beverage industry. For hot, aggressive washdown, consider a PurScreed PU-cement screed instead.
No. Like all epoxies it yellows and chalks under UV, so it is an interior product. For UV-exposed decks, finish with a Rayson UraForce polyurethane topcoat.
