Rayson UraForce WB52

Rayson UraForce WB52 is a two-component, water-based aliphatic urethane floor topcoat — low-VOC, low-odour and UV-resistant — that can be combined with broadcast aggregate for an anti-slip finish.

Best for

Best for durable, low-odour floor topcoats in schools, offices, retail and car park areas, over Rayson PrimeBond W10 primer.

Overview

UraForce WB52 is the finish coat of the Rayson water-based floor system. The two-component aliphatic urethane cures to a high-strength film with excellent abrasion resistance, low dirt pick-up, pencil hardness above H and gloss of 85 at 60° in the gloss grade — while staying low-VOC and low-odour for occupied buildings.

Preliminary laboratory testing records Class 5 staining resistance against used engine oil, olive oil, coffee with milk and black rubber, skid resistance of at least 70 SRV in the anti-slip build-up, and 1,000 hours of QUV accelerated weathering — a non-yellowing finish for interior or exterior floors and walls.

Applied over PrimeBond W10, with an optional aggregate broadcast for anti-slip texture, it is surface dry in about 2 hours and trafficable in about 3 at 28 °C, which keeps overnight and holiday programmes realistic. Gloss, satin and matt grades are available.

Recommended uses

  • UV-resistant topcoat for concrete floors
  • Topcoat finishes on hard surfaces such as stone and limestone
  • Hygienic coatings for walls and floors
  • Anti-slip walkway and ramp systems with broadcast aggregate

Suitable substrates

  • Mechanically prepared concrete (minimum 28 days old, moisture content below 5%)
  • Mineral substrates
  • Stone and limestone
  • Walls and floors

Key benefits

  • Low VOC and low odour — occupied-building friendly
  • Excellent abrasion and staining resistance (Class 5, preliminary testing)
  • Non-yellowing with 1,000 h QUV weathering performance (preliminary testing)
  • Fast trafficable time supports overnight programmes

System position: Finish

A finish is the top coat. It provides the final appearance, cleanability and resistance to traffic, chemicals or UV.

Application method

  • Short-bristled brush
  • Roller

Technical information

The figures below are a guide for planning. Site conditions and workmanship affect results — confirm the details for your project with our technical team.

Coverage Refer to TDS / contact technical team
Mixing Two pre-weighed parts, mix ratio as shown on the supplied set size (4:1 or 9:1 A:B by weight); stir parts separately, combine and mix with a slow-speed drill and paddle until uniform; pot life 6 hours at 25 °C
Drying & curing Surface dry 2 hours at 28 °C; trafficable after 3 hours
Pack sizes Part A 4 kg or 18 kg pail + Part B 1 kg or 2 kg pail

Limitations

  • Minimum substrate temperature 5 °C; minimum mixing temperature 10 °C; minimum curing temperature 5 °C
  • Mixed material must be used within its pot life; cures faster in hot weather and in large batches
  • Performance data supported by laboratory testing
  • Thin-film topcoat — apply minimum 2 coats over the primed system

Not suitable for

  • Heavy forklift or industrial traffic without an appropriate body coat
  • Chemical containment or immersion service
  • Unprimed, unprepared substrates

Recommended systems

Low-odour floor system

  1. Prime with Rayson PrimeBond W10
  2. Apply minimum 2 coats of Rayson UraForce WB52

Anti-slip system

  1. Prime with Rayson PrimeBond W10 and broadcast fine aggregate into the wet primer
  2. Sweep off excess after drying and seal with minimum 2 coats of Rayson UraForce WB52

Frequently asked questions

How quickly can a coated area reopen?

Indicatively surface dry in 2 hours and trafficable in about 3 at 28 °C. Allow longer before wet cleaning or heavy use; confirm programme timings with our technical team.

Does it resist staining?

Testing records Class 5 staining resistance against used engine oil, olive oil, coffee with milk and black rubber — strong results.

How is the anti-slip version built?

Broadcast fine aggregate into the wet PrimeBond W10 primer, sweep off the excess when dry, then seal with two coats of WB52. Preliminary testing on this build-up records at least 70 SRV skid resistance.

Is it suitable for exterior use?

Yes — the aliphatic urethane is non-yellowing and has run 1,000 hours of QUV accelerated weathering in preliminary testing.

What primer does it need?

Rayson PrimeBond W10 is the matched water-based primer for this system.

What sheens are available?

Gloss, satin and matt.
