Rayson UraForce SB65

Rayson UraForce SB65 is a two-component, solvent-based aliphatic polyurethane clear topcoat with excellent abrasion resistance, non-yellowing behaviour and outstanding weather durability for concrete, metal and stone.

Best for

Best for clear protective finishes over floors, walls and hard surfaces that must stay non-yellowing under weather and UV.

Overview

UraForce SB65 is the clear aliphatic polyurethane in the Rayson range, available in gloss, satin and matt. It seals and dustproofs concrete and hard mineral surfaces with a film that will not yellow, offering outstanding weather resistance and durability alongside excellent abrasion resistance and low dirt pick-up.

The cured film measures pencil hardness above H and gloss of 85 at 60° in the gloss grade, with good water repellence and chemical resistance in wear. It bonds to mechanically prepared concrete, metal, stone and limestone, and serves as a hygienic, washable finish for walls as well as floors.

Mixing is 4:1 by volume with a working pot life of about 2 hours. As a solvent-based product it requires ventilation during application; for occupied spaces the water-based UraForce WB60 clear coat is the alternative.

Recommended uses

  • UV-resistant clear coating for concrete and metal
  • Versatile topcoat finishes on hard surfaces such as stone and limestone
  • Hygienic coatings for walls and floors
  • Non-yellowing, high-abrasion-resistance protective finishes

Suitable substrates

  • Mechanically prepared concrete (minimum 28 days old, moisture content below 5%)
  • Metal (prepared)
  • Stone and limestone
  • Walls and floors

Key benefits

  • Non-yellowing aliphatic PU with outstanding weather resistance
  • Excellent abrasion resistance with low dirt pick-up
  • Clear gloss, satin or matt finishes (gloss 85 at 60°)
  • Long pot life (~2 hours) for controlled application

System position: Finish

A finish is the top coat. It provides the final appearance, cleanability and resistance to traffic, chemicals or UV.

Application method

  • Short-bristled brush
  • Roller

Technical information

The figures below are a guide for planning. Site conditions and workmanship affect results — confirm the details for your project with our technical team.

Coverage Refer to TDS / contact technical team
Mixing Two pre-weighed parts, mix ratio 4:1 by volume; stir parts separately, combine and mix with a slow-speed drill and paddle for 1–2 minutes; pot life approximately 2 hours
Drying & curing Surface dry 6 hours at 25 °C
Pack sizes Part A 4 Lt can + Part B 1 Lt can

Limitations

  • Minimum substrate temperature 5 °C; minimum mixing temperature 10 °C; minimum curing temperature 5 °C
  • Mixed material must be used within its pot life; cures faster in hot weather and in large batches
  • Solvent-based — provide adequate ventilation; not for occupied areas without ventilation control
  • Thin-film clear coat — substrate defects and colour show through

Not suitable for

  • Occupied or unventilated areas during application — solvent-based
  • Hiding substrate defects or colour — it is a clear coat
  • Heavy-duty build-ups — it is a thin protective film, not a wearing screed

Recommended systems

Clear protective finish

  1. Prepare the substrate mechanically and prime where required with Rayson PrimeBond S30
  2. Apply minimum 2 coats of Rayson UraForce SB65, stripe-coating edges by brush

Frequently asked questions

Is UraForce SB65 really non-yellowing?

Yes — it uses aliphatic polyurethane chemistry, the class of PU specifically formulated not to yellow under UV, with outstanding weather durability.

What sheen options are there?

Clear gloss, satin and matt. The gloss grade measures around 85 at 60°.

Can it be used on walls?

Yes. It serves as a hygienic, washable clear finish on walls as well as floors, over suitably prepared substrates.

How many coats are needed?

A minimum of two coats, stripe-coating edges with a brush before rolling the field.

What is the coverage per litre?

Ask our technical team for current coverage guidance before ordering.

Solvent-based or water-based — which clear coat should I pick?

SB65 for maximum weather durability where ventilation is available; UraForce WB60 where low odour and occupied-building working are the priority.
